The study of nutrients in food, how the body utilizes them, and the link between diet, health, and illness is known as nutrition. To understand how foods influence the human body, nutritionists apply concepts from molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics.  A key component of nutrition is the consideration of how people can reduce their risk of disease through their dietary choices. Nutrients are the building blocks of life. Nutrients include proteins, carbs, fat, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water. If people do not have the right balance of nutrients in their diet, their chance of having certain health disorders rises.
